It’s important because depending what stitch and hook size you use, the blanket size will vary. For instance, if you are using a basic single crochet and make 100 rows, it will be a lot smaller than doing 100 rows with double crochet. Also, if I use smaller hook like an H hook versus a K hook, the blanket would be smaller as well. Bold stripes meet modern texture with the Bold Stripes Blanket!

With 2 new colors , make another section of granny stripes. The striped section of the blanket is a mix of single crochet and half double crochet that you can work in whatever colour sequence you like. For my blanket, a basic double crochet stitch was done with a G hook. I chose a yarn I’ve worked with many times before, that I knew would work perfectly for this project.

Close the round and begin row 3 the same way. Continue this until the end, making only 2 dc sts in the last st of the row. Pull next color through, ch3, turn. I also had trouble with the ripple stitch – row 31 did not work out number wise for me which threw off the number of stitches in row 32 and 33. Each colour stripe of the blanket has a rib section before the next stripe. Then the whole blanket is bordered with a simple edge to finish. Hi there, you can make this blanket bigger by following the multiple, which is 2. So you can make your foundation chain however long you would like, just make sure it’s a multiple of 2. Just make sure that number is an even number. If you would like to change the size of this blanket, all you have to do is follow the multiple of the stitch used in this pattern.
