Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time. Enliven your spirit at Casa Bacardi and learn its history, then see the highlights of Old San Juan on a driving tour. This trail and waterfall are not within the portion of El Yunque that is protected by the bora bora vs maldives vs fiji United States Forest Service. This trail has everything that you look forward to on a real true hike in the woods. You will make your way past wildflowers, passion fruit vines, and tropical hardwood trees. Most amazing activities you can experience in Puerto Rico.
In addition, you will encounter those steep hills on the road, so if you are driving a small vehicle, it can seem frightening. These rocky coastal areas and cliffs are aesthetically appealing, but they’re not for the faint of heart. The ground is uneven and contains many holes that hide crevasses that fall into the abyss. Be aware when walking, but remember to enjoy whatever beautiful scenery catches your eye.
It’s not long, but pretty steep downhill over vines and slick rocks at times. The bottoms of my shoes were muddy but my feet stayed dry despite the rain! Once we got to the water the clouds cleared and we were treated to beautiful skies while we swam and jumped off rocks into the water. The lunch stop after the hike was delicious local Puerto Rican food and I highly recommend trying some of everything! Definitely recommend this tour to the adventurous type with easy/moderate trail experience. If you are looking for a tour to put the icing on the cake before you leave Puerto Rico, I have the tour for you!
Hector escorted a group of us up to the rope swing. He showed us how to position our hands and brace ourselves for the jump. After I had jumped from the rope swing a few times I swam over to the waterfall.
This waterfall is easily accessible from road 533 in Ciales, and you just have to park along the road and take a few steps down the first waterfall and pool. You’ll have to do a little climbing to get to the second waterfall, but you’ll love this magical place. Not only do you have to drive on a mountainous road, but you also have to hike for more than 20 minutes to get there.
