Stylish, modern rooms are draped in warm reds and oranges to create a soothing and welcoming atmosphere. Guests get unlimited access to the resort’s golf facilities and instructors, with access to other courses in the nearby area also available. The capacity was about 30% of normal due to COVID but everything but one restaurant was open.
The Village has restaurants, shops and bars to explore. We would love to return to Club Med Punta Cana, but also wouldn’t mind checking out any number of their many properties around the world. We really loved the family fun and relaxation of it all. As a different sort of family we felt completely welcome and at no time did anyone, guests or staff, question us or make us feel uncomfortable. You know we love our separate spaces when we travel as a family, and our Deluxe two bedroom accommodations at Club Med Punta Cana gave us plenty of that.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your experience there. It was an amazing place back then but no telephones, tv, radio, newspapers or much of anything else at that time. The swimming pool was one large rectangle such as what you would find at a old community pool. I was the club hostess and sold beads so adults can enjoy their adult beverages at any hour of the day.
The water does get deep-ish fairly quickly, though, so be sure to be within arm’s reach. Miss Q, for example, at 8 years old, could make it about 20 to 30 feet out before she couldn’t touch, but then she reallycouldn’t touch. The new Ovando family rooms are beautifully decorated. Plus the kids get their own TV and space to play. Club Med Punta Cana is only 10 minutes from the airport!
As if the luxury of being at an all-inclusive resort wasn’t enough, we each also got to enjoy a kid-free spa day. The setting of a spa, just off the beach with views of crashing waves and snorkelers, it’s just perfect. Being L’Occitane branded, the quality of the products used went well with the Club Med brand. While most of the beach is open to all resort guests, the easternmost portion has a section that they request is adults-only, as it’s the closest to the Zen part of the property. Families that want to snorkel here are fine to walk through though, as is the culture of Club Med and its visitors, you won’t be made to feel out of place as you go through with your kids.
I’ve never stayed at a resort so close to the airport. It was brilliant because it felt like we landed, hopped in a cab, and arrived. This is a frequent benefit of Club Med resorts because in so many cases, they were the first resorts in a given area, before they became tourist-friendly; Club Med has literally helped build airports.
Bars and lounges are also scattered throughout the resort for alcohol and soft drinks. Families can enjoy archery, trapeze, and tennis classes, play mini soccer and beach volleyball or take horse rides into the surrounding countryside. Instructors offer classes in windsurfing, water skiing, and catamaran sailing, and there is snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddle-boarding chuys taco shop equipment available. While parents relax in the spa or play a round of golf, kids can enjoy the team sports, creative workshops and movie screenings at the Passworld club for 11- to 17-year-olds. Activities outside the resort include horse rides, 4×4 safari tours, and sailing journeys exploring bays, fishing villages and Roman ruins along the coast.
