MLB The Show 22 offers a realistic experience to gamers when it comes to hitting in the game. Hitting represents one of the two core activities that are part of baseball. Hence, it becomes important for players to know the best hitting settings to increase their chances of scoring a home run.
This, personally, is our least favorite control option, but it still has merit if you need a method with low impact in terms of buttons. With Catch Indicator Off mode, there will still be a red indicator that tells players which direction to go for the ball, but there is no landing indicator whatsoever. This is a straight-up disadvantage but it makes for a cleaner floor and a more immersive experience. Even in a video game like MLB The Show 22, the embarrassment is hard to live down.
Ultimately, the best hitting setting is the one that you play best with. Before you hit the field in MLB The Show 22, you’ll probably want to check out the many tuning options available in the game. As a baseball simulation game, MLB The Show 22 has a wide variety of tuning options, allowing you to make the game as serious or arcade-like as you want. Since the number of options can be overwhelming, especially for new players, here’s what you need to do first.
There are different gamers in MLB The Show 22, and each will have their own unique preference. The Classic control is best for casual players and beginners as it’s easy to do. There are different types of pitches users will be able to replicate in-game. Timing couldn’t be simpler, swimg rail just swing when the ball enters your zone; targeting is no longer necessary. Against high-level opponents, this is a critical flaw because it leaves the corners of the plate vulnerable and pitches low in the zone often result in ground ball outs, which is a major problem.
That said, you’ll most often see members of the MLB The Show 22 rocking one of the Strike Zone hitting view camera options. The other hitting settings, Pure Analog and Directional, give you a little less control over the outcome, at least in my experience. All the same, don’t be afraid to experiment and see which one you like best.
To achieve a true and authentic MLB experience, you want to control the fate and outcome of every possible pitch. However, remember that if you are playing online or with a friend, these settings will most likely be different. Keep in mind that in MLB The Show 22, you cannot adjust the length of innings until you proceed to select teams and the stadium in Exhibition or Retro Modes. There are several modes in Diamond Dynasty that have three-inning games, but for the sake of a realistic experience, we recommend keeping the game at nine innings.
