There’s an official Torch Lake Tour to help you explore them, but we opted for a more casual, drive around and stop at what looks good approach. The drive is beautiful and will take you through century farms, apple and cherry orchards and offer beautiful lake views. There are lots of options for renting a home or cottage on Torch Lake, many of which are reasonably priced. Obviously the earlier you book your trip the more options you will have. Our cabin featured lake access, a fire pit, and a rowboat for guests.
When on vacation with family, it’s always best to engage in outdoor bonding activities and games. One place in Bellaire that is best known for family entertainment is Bellaire Lanes and Games. This is a lovely bowling alley that is situated in a picturesque environment and is within reach of Lake Bellaire, which is only a mile (1.6 kilometers) away. This center features an eight-lane bowling alley, an arcade, and a laser tag, making it the ideal place to bring your family. There is also an on-site bar and restaurant with some mouthwatering selections on the menu. After playing and having fun, the family can then enjoy some delicious meals and drinks as they unwind.
It wasn’t fancy and had no AC, but with the comfortable temperatures, we found we didn’t miss it. Pontoon boats and ski boats can also be rented around Lake Torch, and sailing lessons can be enjoyed here too at locations like the Torch Lake Yacht & Country Club . There aren’t big, sandy beaches in Alden, but naked beach spain you can make your way to the water from one of several public access points. The Train Depot Park, the Ballfield, and the public access at the boat docks all provide Torch Lake access points. Rent a boat and have it delivered to your vacation rental, or pick it up at a local marina for a day on the water.

It is also worth noting that their specialty coffee is by far the best in Northern Michigan, and their creative coffee drinks are unrivaled. Here’s how we planned the perfect week in Torch Lake, Michigan. Several other loggers landed on the island throughout it’s history and by 1860 it was a small “melting pot” of immigrants. The first school was built in 1895 and could seat thirty-six students. North Manitou acted as weigh station where people and their goods were unloaded to await a transfer to other boats bound for different destinations.
