It acts as a lightning bolt, replacing the motif that runs the length of his blade. Although it is not known why the blade was designed that way, it makes for an impressive-looking sword. Zenitsu Agatsuma owns one of the yellow Nichirin Blades, which is used to indicate thunder. Zenitsu might seem like a scaredy-cat and have low morale, but when asked, he will let his true power shine at lightning speed. Zenitsu’s true strength is as explosive as lightning and all at once. However, both Tanjiro and Yoriichi lived long lives despite the former facing a lot of hardships.
The most prominent demon slayer who wields this sword color is the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa. With his sword, he can unleash tornadoes of sword slashes upon any demon cardio when bulking unlucky enough to have him as an opponent. A prominent demon slayer who wields a white sword is none other than Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.
However, it is explained that “The Love Breathing” has a peculiar character, and was created by the Nichirin blade’s pink wielder Mitsuri Kanroki. The pink blade symbolizes Love and may appear like an abstract concept when placed alongside other blades. The indigo-gray blade represents Beasts and, as such, the person who wields it in the show wears a huge head of hogs as a cape to conceal his face. In the end, Nichirin Swords are unable to change color more than one time.
Kyojuro has a strong sense of morals, and his passion for demon slaying burns with the intense heat of a raging flame. The blue Nichirin Blade symbolizes water, and it’s also the first Nichirin Blade we see in the series. Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, wields a blue blade. Swordsmiths in the Swordsmith Village perform the forging process for the demon slayer after they have passed the Final Selection and have earned the right to choose their ore. The smith will deliver the sword themself after forging it, bestowing the great blade upon the demon slayer personally. Though the swordsmiths do not possess special powers, they are unusually skilled at the craft of forging.
Another theory relates the blackness of the sword to charcoal, and that Tanjiro used to work by selling charcoal to earn money. Another unique color for a unique breathing technique is Lavender-Blue. It apparently corresponds to the user of the Breath of the Insect.
Tanjiro Kamado wields a black Nichirin blade, but the symbolism of such a sword is unknown. Black blades are seen as a rarity, as demon slayers who wield them are doomed to die young. It can also often change color becoming white, blue, red, or black. That happens due to different reasons, and each of the colors usually has different meanings. However, the changes can surprise, distract, and confuse them during fighting so they might lose the battle more easily.
Incidentally, black is also the color that absorbs the greatest amount of sunlight. Both Tanjiro’s teacher Urokodaki and Hotaru expected the sword to take on the color red due to his burgundy tinted hair and eyes, and even declared the color to be a stroke of good luck. However, after Tanjiro wielded the blade, it turned pitch black, which was ironically considered to bring bad fortune to its user. Inosuke Hashibira also known as the boar head is the only wielder of indigo- Gray nichirin blade. Inosuke uses a unique technique known as the breath of the beast which he derived from the Breath of Wind style.
Agatsuma is a child who is terrified of the shadow of himself, but when placed under pressure, can unleash a sharp and quick character who can cause chaos with his sword. Contrasting with Giyu, Mitsuri Kanroji wields a Pink Nichirin Blade that perfectly depicts her Breath of Love look and an emotional and passionate character. But, the sword of Tanjiro was able to acquire an indefinite red hue and I’ll go over that in this article, too. In taking all of these factors into account it is possible to conclude that the way a person breathes is a major influence on the color of the sword. The most intriguing color of the sword that comes from Demon Slayer is the one Kanjiro is armed with. There are plenty of obvious similarities between Tanjiro Kamado and Yoriichi Tsugikuni, and this is the reason why Tanjiro has a black Nichirin Blade.
Like solid rock, Gyomei is shown to be strong and sturdy during battle, even towering most of his comrades in the Demon Corps. A nichirin blade exceeds its powers and capabilities when it turns crimson red. This is different from the usual red of the nichirin blade of a Flame Hashira. While he lists the basic five breathing styles, there is no mention of the Sun Breathing.
