In Row 13, you will begin once again with your first color to start off the next set of boxes. You will continue to not switch colors at the end of each row until Row 6.

You could also use the granny squares to make a cushion cover. If you’re a visual learner you’ll love the photos to guide you in this crochet tutorial. This is also a great resource if you haven’t changed colours in your crochet projects before.

Last week I showed y’all how to make yarn jars so that you can easily work with two colors of yarn at once with minimal tangling and general skein wonkiness going down. Today I’m going to show you how to do the stitch that you might have been able to sneak a peek at in that post… the Checkerboard Crochet Stitch. Lay another two squares and repeat steps 1 to 4 again until simplygram the last stitches of the both squares. You can repeat these steps and join any number of squares as you want. For this blanket I used the flat zipper method which is my favorite joining method I recently learned while making Floral Granny Square Blanket. It’s not a very quick method to try and needs a little practice, but when you grab the rhythm it’s fun to work.
